Business Growth for Small Business Owners Requires Internal Alignment

Monday, 9th May 2011

Are you experiencing too many pressures at once? Do you have a gnawing, sickening feeling that if you just had a little more confidence you could make better strategic choices, manage your stress better, and could attract more customers authentically?

Failure to step up and start addressing some of these concerns can stunt your business growth immediately. You’ll start noticing a spiraling affect backward, not forward! Business growth will never remain consistent if you don’t pay attention to nurturing and aligning your inner self. That’s because your business success or failure is ultimately dependent on how aligned you are from the inside out.

The fastest and best way to become aligned within yourself and have the confidence to take your business to the next level is to hire an experienced life and business coach. This person should be a trained professional who doesn’t sit back and tell you what to do, but dive in from a place of inquisitiveness and intuition. The first steps should attempt to discover your strengths, check any blocks that are holding you back, and decide what action steps will help you step forward with confidence – without any hesitation.

Finding a coach that believes in you, your mission, and your purpose – more than you believe in yourself — has a powerful affect that can literally transform your job and your business performance over night. It doesn’t require guilt, shame, or doing a bunch of stuff you hate to do. It does require your willingness to explore and be coached.

I have seen business owners increase their sales by 200% in less than two months once they plugged into their confidence and focused on a deeper level than they had ever done before. I have also seen sales reps work 30% less and make more money in a few months of deep level focus. I have also seen marriages improve, headaches decrease, and a rebirth of business excitement and passion.

Is it time for you to step it up, and propel into greater business success? If so, make sure you are aligned with your core values, beliefs, and strengths. What are your core values and beliefs and strengths? Love to hear. Please comment below.

The Impact of Lacking Self-Esteem on Business Professionals

Studies show that at least 85% or more of the world’s people suffer from some degree of lacking self-esteem. Although one might think that such challenges are only characteristic of the poor, uneducated, or lower socio-economic members of society, people from all walks of life can suffer situational or more widespread challenges with their levels of self-esteem.

Many very successful business people lack self-esteem in some areas of their lives. Perhaps they feel socially challenged or they have difficulty establishing close or intimate relationships. Perhaps they experience low self-esteem with regard to their physical appearance or their health. Perhaps they are not having any fun in their lives, maybe devoting too much attention to their work. Many “successful” people are driven to succeed. They compensate for feeling deficient in other areas of their lives by working harder and finding a place they can excel through their work. This provides them with a new focus where they can win but it doesn’t fulfill their neglected needs in other areas like relationships, recreation, personal and spiritual development, health and appearance, and their ability to lead balanced, fun, and fulfilling lives.

Many of those lacking self-esteem in other areas find themselves driven to accomplish, driven to prove their worth. Since business is an area where they can shine, they neglect other areas to focus excessively on business. (more…)

You Reap What You Sow When Building a Business

Monday, 25th April 2011

by Kathleen Gage

Not a day goes by that thousands of people decide to take the “BIG LEAP” to attempt to sell something online with the dream of making untold amounts of money. As quickly as they dare to dream most will let go of the dream because they have not had a flood of buyers clicking their “Buy Now” button.

Discouraged, they shake their head, shut off the computer, sigh deeply, convinced they will never make money online nor fulfill their dream.

The bad news is, this is a more common scenario than not. The good news is, it doesn’t have to be this way.

As with virtually anything, there is a formula for success. Contrary to what many people may think, the most important part of the formula is one’s mindset. With the right mindset you are willing to do what it takes to move closer to your dream every day; you think in terms of possibility rather than limitation and you attract opportunity to yourself that can often amaze you and others.

You Deserve Your Dream: Building Self-Confidence to Meet Your Goals

Thursday, 21st April 2011

by Mary Morrissey

In our lives we all experience things that add purpose and meaning to our time here on earth. We also have a voice of judgment and doubt inside us that lessens our self-worth and ability to believe we have a right to good fortune. By finding a way to accept your true “Self” and staying in gratitude, life begins to give us the blessings our hearts and minds are longing for.

  1. Stay focused on the good to heighten your self-confidence. It is always your choice to perceive something as good or bad. Do not be dismayed when life sends challenges your way; just call God in to reveal the lesson. Then give yourself the same grace. Know that you still have your “original innocence.” Mistakes are not made out of evil; they are made out of ignorance. God created you. Therefore, you are inherently good. Starting here and now, stop being a victim. Know that you can be a co-creator of your own life and that you can benefit from every lesson over the course of your journey.
  2. It’s hard to move confidently into the life you have imagined if you’re lugging deadweight. When you persist in carrying the baggage of your childhood, your shame, or your belief that you are unlovable, you have no room for greater possibilities. Let go of encumbrances by identifying and releasing the things you’ve been clinging to.
  3. A daily practice of gratitude increases your sense of deserving. An “attitude of gratitude” clears the path for you to build your dream on a solid foundation of self-worth. Spend a day in gratitude for those you’ve been hard on. From that point, create a daily practice of doing just this. When you can appreciate the people you have once hurt or taken for granted, the ability to attract good is strengthened since your thankfulness has grown as well.

Deeply believe in your dream, or you will fall short. God already knows you are perfect; now is the time for you to believe in yourself. With God’s help, you can find that exquisite core you’ve kept hidden away and bring it out into the light.

Overcoming the Impossible

Monday, 28th March 2011

Over the years I begged, pleaded and then finally gave up on my son ever getting his eagle.  Nothing worked.  Then a neighbor talked to him and something clicked in his head and he was on fire and determined to earn it.   The determination continued until the last few minutes where he could submit his papers–minutes before midnight on his eighteenth birthday everything aligned up.

We recently had his court of honor and I got to beam the proud mother smile.

How many of you have given up on something and then in the midnight hour things turned around?  How many of you had an experience where a neighbor turned everything around?  I would love to hear your comments.

Stopping Small Business Owners from Sabotaging Their Business

Tuesday, 15th February 2011

I get so tired of hearing excuses.  I have eight children and five of them are teenagers.  How many excuses do you think I hear in a given day?  You’re right.  Way too many!  The problem is that the excuses I hear don’t stop with my younger kids or my teenagers.  Nope.  They spring forth out of my small business owner clients too.

If you are a small business owner and you find that you are giving excuses as to why something isn’t done, why you didn’t show up on time, or why you are not getting the results you want or think you have earned.  Stop it!  Stop it, right now.  Those excuses are hurting your business.

If you are busy making excuses, what are you not figuring out?

What profit are you leaving on the table?

What new system are you not putting in place?

Just like I don’t want to hear why my teenagers didn’t get their homework done, I don’t want to hear business owner’s excuses as to why they weren’t successful.  There is no good reason except that it was a huge learning and you know what to do differently.   When a small business owner is too worried about why they can’t get something done or achieve the results they want they are not focusing on the how.  Small business owners are in their power when they focus on the how and leave the why it isn’t working or getting done to their competitors.

Avoid Holiday Stress by saying, “Yes!”

salad

I just got back from going to my favorite salad place for lunch.  It always strikes me so funny when I go.  I go the that place to support my efforts to eating lots of fresh vegetables.  When I go down this line where they prepare our meal, the restaurant workers are continuing asking me, “Would you like cheese on that?”  “Would like to have a cookie or a brownie with that?”  “Would you like to have a pop?”  Or “would you like to have a chocolate covered strawberry?”  Over and over the worker’s continuously invite me to blow my goal.  As we approach Thanksgiving, there is going to be many opportunities that are good, healthy, and supportive to our lives.  Other things if we say yes to will have a negative effect.

Say yes to gratitude.  Say yes to being thankful.  Gratitude always put you in a better frame of mind, assists you to make better decisions, improves relationships.  Say no to family drama.  No, no, no!  I will not have family drama this year.  Say yes to peace.  Yes, I will peacefully get through to any situation.  Say no to anything that will cause negative results.

When times get a little more stressful than normal, which they often do when you are dealing with family and the holidays, it because even more important to say yes to the vegetables.  Yes to the things that make you feel good in the long run and look away when all those other invitation comes that won’t put you in peak performance.

Avoid the stresses.  Say yes to health.  Say yes to happiness.
